IDA

Ida is a retired detection canine from U.S. Customs. Ida worked in the Calexico, California port-of-entry from 2008-2009. During her short career, Ida was responsible for numerous drug seizures. She retired early due to problems with the pads of her feet.

In December of 2016, Ida’s owner came home and realized Ida had a broken hind leg. He rushed her to the vet and it was determined that Ida had cancer and the leg needed to be amputated. Fortunately, the cancer did not spread to the rest of her body.

Ida’s leg was amputated and we are happy to say she is expected to make a full recovery. She is doing very well and is still enjoying her retirement.
