DONNA

Donna is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. She is loving her retired life, and enjoys spending time with the rest of her pack and handler. Donna suffered from bloat a few years ago and requires special prescription food to keep her healthy. Retired Paws is happy to help her receive this food. Please donate to help canines like Donna!

REX-CC

Rex-CC is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Rex was retired in early 2014 after a tumor was discovered in his adrenal gland. We are happy to say that the tumor is being treated with medication and Rex is doing very well!! He is enjoying retired life and living life to the fullest. Please donate to help canines like Rex.

ARVI

Arvi is a retired dual purpose canine (Patrol/Narcotics Detection) from the Arizona Department of Corrections.  Toward the end of his career, Arvi was diagnosed with heart worms.  The heart worms were still affecting Arvi’s health into retirmement, which resulted in costly medical bills.  Retired Paws is very happy to be able to assist Ariv’s handler (now full time owner) pay for his medical bills. MAX

Max is a retired canine from the United States Border Patrol. He entered on duty with the Border Patrol in 2007 and worked in Detroit Michigan his entire career. Max was trained and certified to detect concealed humans and narcotics. In 2011 he was diagnosed with a medical condition Degenerative Lumbosacral Stenosis and underwent surgery. After numerous months of rehabilitation he was unable to continue his service and was retired. In November of 2013 Max experienced an episode of torsion requiring emergency surgery. He is expected to have a full recovery. Please donate to help canines like Max!

NICO

Nico is a retired detection canine from the Honolulu Police Department.  Nico suffered from heat stroke and now experiences seizures.  He is required to take monthly medication to control his seizures.  Please consider donating to help canines like Nico.

THOR

Thor was a patrol canine for a police department in Illinois.  He served with this handler for almost 7 years before retiring after being diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy.

Retired Paws was able to pay for water therapy and supplements to hopefully increase Thor’s mobility and increase his quality of life.

DUKE

Duke is a retired detection canine from the USBP.  He is currently enjoying retirement in New Hamphshire.

Duke had a tumor (benign) on his spleen that ruptured resulting in emergency surgery.  Retired Paws was able to pay for the total cost of the surgery.  Duke’s owner was going through some very difficult times financially due to his own medical expenses.

ALI

Ali is a German Shepherd who is retired from the United States Border Patrol.  Ali suffers from Spondylosis and rear assembly degeneration which requires daily dosages of Rimadyl and Tramadol. Additionally, Ali needs immediate surgery to correct a perineal hernia.  The hernia has torn some of his pelvic wall and is prohibitinig him from defecating.  The veterinarian estimates the surgery will cost around $3,000.00.  Please donate to help canines like Ali.

BULLET

Bullet is a retired United States Border Patrol detection canine.  Canine Bullet entered on duty in 2004 and spent the majority of his career working in Indio, California until transferring to Blaine, Washington.  Bullet was medically retired from duty due to age and diagnosis of Ehrlichiosis.

FLACO

Flaco is a retired canine from the United States Border Patrol.  He was stationed in Southern Arizona and worked as a detection canine.  He was retired because of a medical condition that affected his leg.  He had difficutly walking and he developed a severe limp.  Flaco was retired to his handler, but still requires medication to help keep him healthy.  Please donate to help canines like Flaco.
